Napajedla - chateau

This Chateau, built in the late Baroque style in 1764-1769, is one of the works of F. A. Grimm. The chateau grounds feature and English park and a French garden. A local horse-breeding farm, established in 1882 by the chateau’s then-owner Aristid Baltazzi, is renowned for its breeding of English thoroughbreds.

Bystřice pod Hostýnem - chateau

Chateau Bystřice pod Hostýnem is found in the centre of the town and is a unique example of the gradual modernization of estates. The most famous owners of the chateau were the Laudons, who owned the chateau for 106 years. The statue of the renowned leader Ernest Gideon Laudon still decorates the chateau today. In 1897 Emperor Franz Josef I lived in the chateau.

Large, originally renaissance castle in place of former residence of Olomouc bishops, had been rebuilt in baroque style and later again adapted. The castle garden in English park style includes several precious trees (some 500 years old). The flower garden is arranged in French style with many romantic buildings (summerhouse, colonnade) and a labyrinth.

Originally a stronghold on the hill above Bojkovice. It was founded at the end of the 15th century as a defence against Turkish raids. It was rebuilt into a Baroque castle in the second half of the 18th century and later adapted in Neo-Gothic style in the 19th. The castle is surrounded by a park with subtropical flora.

Quadrilateral two-storey building with a moat and arcade forecourt, four hexagonal towers from the Early Baroque period. Construction was launched by Jan Count of Rottal on the former Lobkovice fortress.

The original fortress was already mentioned in the 16th century, when it belonged to Catherine of Doloplaz. In the second half of the 16th century it was rebuilt into a renaissance chateau. At the turn of the 18th century it underwent baroque reconstruction and the baroque chapel was added.

The ruin of an early Gothic castle from the 13th century built as a defence against Hungarian attacks. It was plundered during the Hussite wars, but rebuilt in Renaissance style again. The castle was finally abandoned after a fire in 1821. Today stands a defence tower and parts of the walls.

One of the oldest castles in Moravia, the landmark of woody slopes of this part of Chřiby hills. Its core dates back to the 13th century, but its construction went on to the 17th century. The castle is newly restored and is the venue of numerous cultural events.

Baroque chateau built in the first half of the 18th century on the foundations of a Renaissance fortress. Since 1967 nuns of the Order of St. František inhabited it. After 1989, it was returned to its last prewar owners –the Šimon family.

The renaissance castle built over older stronghold is mentioned in local legends about a folk king. The castle had been rebuilt in 17th century for the Olomouc archbishop, and reconstructed again later in 19th century. Interesting item is the folk's king table decorated with motives of cutlery and rose.

This romantic pseudo-historic castle lies in the middle of a ZOO. The castle was built in place of former Baroque castle demolished in 1887. The upper floors present stylish interiors with rich collections; on the ground floor are terrariums and aquariums and nature history museum. The castle is also used for ceremonial occasions (weddings, etc.).

The chateau underwent extensive reconstruction in the middle of the 18th century. The old chateau was torn down and a modern chateau was built in its place in the French style of King Louis XVI. The construction was led by Brno’s architect František Antonín Grimm. The walls and copulas of the rooms are ornamented with illusive paintings from 1757, imitating rococo stucco.

Originally a Gothic stronghold was at the beginning of the 17th century rebuilt into a four-wing Renaissance castle with a 59 m tall tower. The castle was rebuilt in Classicist style in 1833 – 34. After a fire in 1915 it was adapted in pseudo-Renaissance style for the family Thonet.

Žerotín Chateau

Žerotín Chateau

Chateau from the 16th century built by Jan of Pernštejn. Later on it was sold to the Žerotíns and it underwent Baroque reconstruction in the 18th century. In 1854, a female prison was established here, also the Catholic Society Home resided here. In 1995 - 1996, total reconstruction took place, and since 2002 the chateau courtyard has been accessible to the public.

The castle in Buchlovice and its large park create a real architectonic jewel – a nobleman’s residence built in Italian villa style. Branky - chateau

The chateau was built at the beginning of the 18th century during the rule of the Lockner's of Lockenau. In the 1890s, it was reconstructed in a historicising style. However, the single-storey Baroque layout remained basically the same. There is a park adjacent to the chateau with certain noteworthy woody specise. The chateau is a part of the children's medical institute.

Choryně - chateau

The former medieval fortress was reconstructed by Chorynsky of Ledska in the 1570s into a Renaissance chateau with three wings, which maintained its character of a fortification until the beginning of the 19th century (it was surrounded by a water moat).

Hoštice - chateau

Baroque chateau concealed in the greenery of a massive park. The chateau was built at the end of the 17th century. Its appearance was later influenced by the start of new architectural trends – Rococo and Classicism. The structure has two storeys, one wing and is under private ownership.

Hovězí - chateau

Markéta Františka of Schmiedau, nee Serényiová commissioned the construction of the oruginal Baroque building. In 1718, it was acquired by the Illesházyov family. Later on it was used as offices and flats.

Kelč - chateau

Originally a fortress once stood in Kelč, which the brothers Jan and Beneš of Heršice had built in around the 2nd half of the 15th century, after their castle Šaumburk had been destroyed. Towards the end of the 16th century, during the rule of Bishop Stanislav Pavlovsky, the fortress was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau,which it still remains today.

Koryčany - chateau

Originally a 17th century fortress rebuilt into a two-wing Baroque chateau. In the 18th century, it was expanded by the eastern Baroque wing. Today it serves as a three-wing building with a mansard roof as a training centre.

Loučka - chateau

Michal Paris Kaltschmied of Eisenverg had the Baroque chateau built in the 1660s. After 1769, Count Leopold of Lamberk reconstructed the chateau and also had a chateau chapel built. Empirical renovations at beginning of the 19th century imprinted the chateau's look as we know it today. Unfortunately, the chateau is abandoned and run-down.

Wooden chateau built in the 2nd half of the 19th century by the Stillfrieds.

Hošťálková - chateau

Empire chateau built by Count Frydrych Chorynský of Ledské. The chateau includes a 19th century park.
